Message from Max Brett:
On January 28, I will become a bar mitzvah.  My bar mitzvah weekend coincides with Holocaust Remembrance Day, and the 78th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz.
I am deeply concerned with the recent rise in anti-semitism. I find the Holocaust to be an important part of history that we do not want to be forgotten. It is important to teach and learn from our past so people do not make the same mistakes.
For my mitzvah project, I am twinning with a Holocaust Survivor named Mark Schonwetter who survived the war in Poland. I had the honor of meeting Mr. Schonwetter  and hearing first hand his experiences.
I am hoping to raise funds to support the Jewish Federation of Greater Metro West  and the the Mark Schonwetter Holocaust Education Foundation with a goal to raise $1,800 between the two. Both organizations aim to provide continued education through telling survivor stories.
